Child support is money paid by parents who are not living with their children, to help financially support them. This site provides information and resources for paying parents, custodians and employers making child support deductions.
What is child support?

An explanation of how child support works, its aims and an explanation of what is not a child support issue. Note too that child support is different from Working for Families Tax Credits.

Find out what your entitlement to child support may be and how and when payments can be made to you. Also included is information about the details we need to know to ensure you get the right amount.

Information for employers

Learn about the obligations employers have in regard to making child support deductions. This section includes information on how to make deductions and the forms employers are required to complete. Privacy and anti-discrimination rules are also explained.

Did you know?

Family assistance is now called Working for Families Tax Credits. But although the name has changed, entitlements haven't. You do not need to apply for Working for Families Tax Credits. You'll carry on getting the same payments, unless your personal situation changes.
