Budget 2022: The Government has announced a Cost of Living Payment, which will be paid from 1 August 2022. You do not need to apply for this payment. If you are eligible, we’ll pay it into your bank account. Find out more

The income tax assessment shows your end of year tax position and if you:

  • are due a refund
  • have tax to pay
  • have no tax to pay and are not due a refund.

Check this assessment. If your income or Working for Families details are wrong tell us about any changes. If you do not update changes to your details, you may end up with a bill to pay or miss out on entitlements.

If you're due a refund we'll pay this into your bank account from mid-May to the end of July when we process income tax assessments. Any tax or Working for Families owing should be paid by 7 February. If you have a tax agent, you'll need to pay by 7 April.
