Between April and June, IR will be running the next round of the Tax Toolbox campaign to engage and educate construction customers.
The key objectives of the campaign are to:
- remind customers about the Tax Toolbox – www.ird.govt.nz/the-tax-toolbox
- motivate customers to address their outstanding returns and debt
- educate customers about their ongoing tax obligations
- motivate them to seek help from IR or tax agents.
Advertising will be targeted at construction sector customers across New Zealand.
We’ll send direct emails and letters to customers in mid-April. We’ll be letting them know what tax types they have outstanding returns and/or debt for and how to file and make a payment or set up an instalment arrangement. If your client’s mail is redirected, you’ll receive it. Otherwise, it’ll go directly to your client.
We are working closely with key agents to assist them in getting the tax affairs of their construction sector clients back on track. Where appropriate, we encourage voluntary disclosures be considered to correct past tax positions.
