Follow these steps to transfer your paid parental leave entitlement to your spouse or partner.
Before you start
You will need your spouse or partner's:
- IRD number
- date of birth
- full name
- paid parental leave entitlement start date.
In myIR, go to your paid parental leave account
Select 'More...'
Then select 'Transfer my Paid parental leave'.
Follow the prompts to complete your request
You'll have a chance to review the information you've entered before submitting the request.
Log in to myIR
What happens next
We’ll send your spouse or partner a notification advising them to complete an application to complete the transfer process.
Your entitlement will be updated to show that your payments have been transferred from the date provided.
