Two-step verification (2SV) adds a layer of security for myIR accounts. It will become compulsory for all myIR users as we gradually phase it in over the next year.

From the evening of 28 April 2025, 2SV in myIR will be compulsory for all intermediaries, tax agents and potentially some of your clients. If you have not set this up already, you'll be prompted to do so the next time you log in to myIR after this date. You can choose to strengthen security now by using 2SV before it becomes compulsory.

Set up two-step verification

When 2SV is enabled, you need to provide a unique security code to verify your identity when logging in to myIR. This also applies to customers logging in with RealME or a passkey.

‘Trusted device’ selections will last 90 days. When this expires, you will need to provide a unique security code when logging into myIR.

You will have the option of using your email and/or an authenticator app to verify your identity. Please note from the evening of 28 April 2025, the email address used for authentication will no longer be required to be unique to the web logon.
