Purpose The New Zealand Film Commission will use IR information to process New Zealand Screen Production Rebate applications.
Data exchanged Information sent to IR from NZ Film Commission: 
  • Applicant’s name
  • Title of the production
  • Production company’s IRD number
  • Claimed Qualifying New Zealand Production Expenditure 
  • Relevant supporting documents
  • Any report on a production prepared by an independent consultant appointed by the NZ Film Commission.
  • Application acknowledgement letters (in respect of registration or provisional, interim or final NZ Screen Production Rebate certification)
  • Approval letters (in respect of provisional, interim or final New Zealand Screen Production Rebate certification)
  • Special Purpose Vehicle waivers
  • Change of consultant letters
  • Decision letters in relation to other matters on the relevant production considered by the NZ Screen Production Rebate Panel or NZ Film Commission’s Board.
IR and the NZ Film Commission will work together to resolve any issues identified in relation to a claim. Inland Revenue will send the NZ Film Commission a response letter for an Applicant stating whether or not the review of Inland Revenue’s records supports the Applicant’s claim for Qualifying New Zealand Production Expenditure.
