Takapuna office closure | Takapuna office closure. The Takapuna office is relocating to a new address so will be closed from 22 November 4pm to 26 November 4pm. From 27 November you can find the new office at: 74 Taharoto Road Smales Farm, One NZ Building, Takapuna.

Some services unavailable 23 - 24 November | myIR, gateway services and our self-service phone line will not be available from 3pm Saturday 23 November to 9am Sunday 24 November while we do planned system testing. This will not affect any tax entitlements or payments scheduled during this time.

All current KiwiSaver data, including monthly data, is available in an Excel download located on the Datasets for KiwiSaver statistics page. Annual data is due to be uploaded by 30 September.

Number of KiwiSaver members by scheme entry method as at 30 June

This graph shows the number of active or provisional KiwiSaver members as at 30 June 2024 by their current scheme entry method.

This graph shows 3 lines, plotting increases of active or provisional KiwiSaver members who joined a scheme through 1 of the following methods: active choice, automatic enrolment to an employer’s chosen scheme, or automatic enrolment to a default scheme. The vertical axis of this graph shows the cumulative total of enrolled KiwiSaver members. The horizontal axis shows data from June 2013 to June 2023.

Between June 2014 and June 2024, the number of active/provisional members:

  • who joined a scheme through active choice increased from 1.6 million to 2.5 million
  • automatically enrolled to an employer’s nominated scheme increased from 194,566 to 214,360
  • automatically enrolled to a default scheme increased from 543,309 to 660,257.

Notes:

  • This graph includes provisional members for 2019 and earlier years, then from April 2020 only reports active members.
  • From April 2020 KiwiSaver information is reported from a new system.
