We’ll estimate your Working for Families entitlement before the start of the tax year and work out your actual entitlement at the end of the tax year.

Confirming your entitlement for the coming tax year We need to know your income and family details before the new tax year starts on 1 April. If we ask you for details and do not get them, your Working for Families payments will stop.
End-of-year assessments At the end of each tax year (31 March) we work out how much Working for Families you should have been paid (your end-of-year entitlement) based on your actual family income and situation for the tax year (1 April to 31 March), and if you'll get a refund or a bill.
Help to repay a debt If you have a Working for Families debt, but you’re having trouble paying, please do not worry. We can help you.
