Some services unavailable 16 - 17 November | myIR, gateway services and our self-service phone line will not be available from 3pm Saturday 16 November to 9am Sunday 17 November while we do planned system testing. This will not affect any tax entitlements or payments scheduled during this time.

The easier it is to get taxes right, the more people will pay the required amount. So we’ve got a lot of systems in place to make it as easy as we can. Our annual income tax process for salary and wage earners is the best example of this – we simply send most New Zealanders what we understand their tax calculation to be. Most people do not need to do anything, others just need to confirm or correct their tax calculation online.
