If the other parent or carer has applied for a child support review, fill out this form to give your point of view and share any evidence you have.
You need to respond within 14 days of when we sent you a notice. The review officer will consider your information at the review hearing.
If we contact you in myIR, you’ll get an alert that you can respond to. You will not need to follow the process on this page.
Before you start
You'll need:
- your IRD number
- your current address and contact details
- any evidence to support your point of view.
For the future hearing, decide whether you want to:
- attend
- bring a support person
- have a representative in your place.
Download and fill in the form
Make sure to save your details.
Send us the form in myIR
Send us your completed form as a message in myIR, telling us the message is for child support.
Attach your completed IR471 form and any supporting documents to the message.
You do not need to sign the form when you send it to us in myIR.
Log in to myIR
If we send you a myIR alert, log in to your myIR account and follow the steps to respond.

What happens next
Everyone in the review will have access to the information you give in your response. If you choose to take part in the hearing, we'll:
- give you the information that the other person provided
- organise a hearing with you in line with your response - for example, to attend with a support person or have someone attend on your behalf.
My responsibilities
If you want to take part in the review hearing, we must get your response within 14 days of either:
- the date we forwarded you a copy of the application
- the date we sent you notification of the application.
